SS-31, also known as Elamipretide, is a synthetic cardiolipin-binding tetrapeptide (D-Arg-dimethylTyr-Lys-Phe-NH2) that localizes to the inner mitochondrial membrane. FDA-approved in 2025 under the brand Forzinity for Barth syndrome.
